What is your management plan for this 30-year-old female patient who presents with papular rosacea which became worse after her pregnancies?

In this general dermatology case discussion moderated by Dr Dianne King, we look at a 30-year-old female patient who presents with papular rosacea which became worse after her pregnancies.

  • No current OCP or other medications.
  • Currently using CeraVe cleanser only.

What is your treatment plan for this patient?

Update

Dr Dianne King's management plan:

  • Start Soolantra once daily
  • La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50+
  • Continue CeraVe cleanser
  • Erythromycin 400 mg bd twice daily
  • Would normally advocate twice weekly red light LED phototherapy as well, but the patient lives 45 minutes from the clinic and childcare makes it difficult for her to attend.

Review after 2 months:

  • Skin much better
  • Had a rebound when stopped erythromycin
  • Continue erythromycin and Soolantra further 2 months
  • Advised to get home LED mask
