This month we look at the fascinating position statement presented by the Melanoma Institute Australia regarding the need for a national targeted melanoma screening program.

For more information on this topic, you may be interested in the HealthCert Professional Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine.

In this position statement there is an outstanding summary of the evidence / lack of evidence to support skin cancer screening / regular reviews of skin.

As doctors looking after patients with (and at risk of) skin cancers (keratinocyte cancers and melanomas), it is worth being across the best available evidence and understanding what the future may bring.
