How would you manage this flat brown macule on the ear?

This week, we look at a case submitted by A/Prof John Pyne in which a new, flat brown macule is identified on the ear of a 64-year-old male.

The patient has no previous personal or family history of skin cancer and is unaware of the lesion.

What are your thoughts on the potential diagnosis?
