Skin Cancer Surgery program overview

Surgery is still considered the most effective and definitive skin cancer treatment, and confident surgical skills allow doctors to treat more skin cancer cases in primary care without referral.

The Skin Cancer Surgery pathway is designed to progressively build the surgical skills to remove and repair skin cancers — from accurate elliptical excisions and suturing through to flaps, grafts and reconstruction in anatomically complex areas.

  • Perfect your elliptical excisions and suturing techniques for accurate removal of lesions and closure of wounds.
  • Progress to flaps, grafts and wedges for defects on the head, neck, face and limbs.
  • Reduce referrals by treating more complex skin cancer cases in your own practice.
  • Progress at your own pace through three certificate levels, with optional hands-on workshop training.

Progress your Skin Cancer Surgery skills step by step

Build your surgical capability progressively across three certificate levels, from essential excisions and suturing through to advanced flaps, grafts and reconstruction.

Advanced Certificate
