Musculoskeletal & Sports Medicine program overview

Musculoskeletal pain and sports injuries are among the most common reasons patients see their GP, from back and neck pain to knee, shoulder and ankle problems.

The Musculoskeletal & Sports Medicine pathway is designed to progressively build the knowledge to diagnose and manage musculoskeletal conditions in primary care — from acute injuries through to complex and recurring problems in patients of every age and activity level.

  • Assess and manage musculoskeletal pain, low back pain, neck injuries and degenerative joint disease.
  • Examine and treat shoulder, elbow, hand, knee, ankle and foot problems and sports injuries.
  • Manage complex cases, from inflammatory arthritis and gout to the weekend sportsperson and high-performance athletes.
  • Progress at your own pace through three certificate levels, with an optional practical workshop.
