Skin cancer is one of the most common dermatological conditions seen in general practice – and it is not overly complex to manage if you have the right skill set. The below video lecture is one of the eight modules in the Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine online course, which is the ideal starting point for GPs who wish to build their core knowledge in skin cancer management and acquire vital diagnostic skills and basic management techniques to provide effective care to patients with skin cancer concerns. The below module with Professor David Wilkinson covers skin anatomy, histology, skin history and examination, biopsy, common benign skin lesions and cancer mimickers.
The course is suitable for GPs and International Medical Graduates, and assumes no prior knowledge or training in the field.
The course is delivered in a one-day practical workshop + online theory: Complete the theoretical course component online and attend a one-day practical workshop with supervised skills practice.
