This week's case discussion, submitted by Dr Mostafa Khalafalla, features a 59-year-old female patient who attends for a follow-up skin check after recently being diagnosed with her fifth basal cell carcinoma.
The patient has no history of squamous cell carcinoma or melanoma and no other medical history of note. Her father developed between 7-10 basal cell carcinomas over his lifetime, but no other family members have a history of skin cancer.
Today, this lesion on her shoulder is identified upon full skin examination. Please see clinical and dermoscopy photographs below.
